Eight Riversuites, Singapore
Eight Riversuites, is a city fringe condominium at Bendemeer. Inspired by the flow of the river, the facade captures the dynamic lines of flowing water as it flows and ripples. The fluid lines of flowing water is recreated on the facade of the towers as an architectural fin encompassing and shading the balconies of the towers as it elegantly flows down the facade. On selected floors, the balconies of particular corners of the facade are extended to create rhythmic points of interest to the fluid facade. At the lower levels, the development features green wall facade treatment to the multi-storey car park to add to the lush landscaped environment of the recreational areas.
Comprising 843 Apartment Units and 19 Strata Terraces, a number of design strategies were employed to make this development sustainable and energy efficient. Solar heat gain is minimised via an elevated landscape deck with high thermal insulation. Environmentally-friendly materials such as green cement, washed copper slag and waterproofing wet membrane were used, while energy efficient timer lighting was installed at common areas, such as staircases. In addition, residential blocks are designed with a well-ventilated common refuse chute to minimise airborne contaminants from waste. Submeters monitor water usage while water-efficient fittings encourage water conservation.
CPG designed Eight Riversuites, in collaboration with Miyake Masaki Associates.

Located next to Sungei Whampoa (Whampoa River), Eight Riversuites was designed to be environmentally responsible. A series of bioretention planter boxes along footpath and behind strata housing detain and treat stormwater runoff from 11% of the site area through vegetation and soil before it is released into Sungei Whampoa.
The river viewing deck provides a venue for residents to soak in nature with views of Sungei Whampoa and bioretention planter boxes. Walkways at the communal landscape deck lead residents along the bioretention planter boxes. Green roofs, sky gardens & vertical greenery naturally cool and beautify the environment while providing recreational spaces for people to enjoy. The landscape features plants which attract birds and are suitable for the creation of habitat. Educational signages around the development inform people about Bioretention System and Sungei Whampoa.
